Film review suggesting that the movie is about "the celebrity's view of celebrity". |
Synopsis |
Compares the themes raised in The Truman Show to an early episode of The Twilight Zone, where a businessman finds his office has been converted into a movie set. It also draws parallels between the film and Gattaca, which was also written and directed by Andrew Niccol. Gattaca offered a critique of genetic programming, while The Truman Show critiques the fact that society has been conditioned by the media to accept whatever truth they choose to present, even if it isn't an adequate reflection of reality. Even Truman himself is programmed to accept his life as being real. |
