Comments A good political history of documentary with a solid feminist and class analysis.
Synopsis Rabinowitz traces the origins of documentary from photography until the invention of vidoe verite and the Rodney Kink beating. In the process she deals with issues of representation, from women to gays & lesbians, indigenous people and the working class. she also outline the competing forces within the documentray film movement.
