Comments A fascinating piece of historical writing which attempts to predict the impact of cinema on the world. Also urges the use of film as a propaganda tool. It is interesting that he thought of cinema as an art-form even at its early stages, unlike many who saw it as somehow beneath the term.
Synopsis A Marxist critique of cinema which is a seminal esssay for Benjamin.It charts the transition of art from the unique to the reproducible and the consequences this will have on the relationship of art to the masses.
