This chapter and book is useful in regards to the reasons behind decisions being made and the people who are responsible for those decisions. It is very business focused and looks at the impact of decisions to the running of the ABC rather than just the creative side of things. (Airlie) |
| Synopsis |
This chapter contains a section on Features and Documentaries that mentions the impact of the newly created Documentary unit at the ABC and the benefits that it produced within the field of documentary making in general. It references the newly reinvigorated Four Corners style of documentary making being instrumental in the success of documentaries at the ABC. Out of Sight, Out of Mind is also referenced as being a major marking for the turning point of documentary film making at the ABC. The chapter then goes on to talk about the increase in infotainment and that it could spell doom for the ABC in general.(Airlie) |
