One of the films entered into 2002's festival was The Secret Life of Fish, a spoof of The Secret Life of Us.
There were 480 films entered into the competition. Out of those 480, 156 short films were chosen. Four years ago, in 1998, just 56 were selected for screenings.
This shows just how popular filmmaking was become in the early '00s. With filmmaking technology becoming more and more user friendly and cheap, a great boom in entries was seen.
