Comments This newspaper article gives great insight into the history of the Chilwell Embassy theatre. The information is clear and the article is contemporary so it is more likely to be reliable and accurate. It confirms that the theatre was renamed as the Embassy and details the upgrades and renovations it received.

There was a new project on the 25th of November 1945 to renovate and modernize the theatre and a new foyer was designed as well as incorporating new carpets, lighting and modern equipment for projection to the enhance experience of going to the theatre. From this time on it was better known as the Embassy theatre. Plans for special children's matinees during the Christmas holidays are mentioned.

This was a suburban theatre in the suburb of Chilwell however the main three larger city cinemas of the time were the Geelong theatre, The Regent and the Corio.
