This reference represents where the Kirbyâs have come since George and Rocâs participation in the business. It is now Rocâs children, Robert G Kirby and John R Kirby who make up two of the major senior roles in the business. (Chairman, Executive Director and Deputy Chairman Executive Director) It was through Roc Kirbyâs inactive that Village Roadshow Limited was born, it was his business leads and daring attitude that turned the Kirby Theatres PTY LTD business into a huge corporation, named Village Roadshow Limited.
Today they own theme parks in Queensland, Sea World, Movie World, Wet ânâ Wild Water Park, Australian Outback Spectacular and Paradise Country. Village Roadshow Limited began to solely own these business ventures in 2006. Of course they still have their cinemas, Village Cinemas, which are now scattered all over the world, in countries like France, Fiji and New Zealand. It is Villages mission to make the cinema experience a comfortable one, they continue in this endeavor.
In 1970 film Distribution began for the Kirby family under the Village Roadshow name. Movies distributed by the company included Bad Eggs and Wolf Creek. Their success meant that they are now the leaders in DVD distribution, both in retail and rental. They also have a music section that with film distribution makes up 40.4% of the business. In 1998 Village Roadshow teamed up with Warner Brothers to improve all fascists of the film distribution, namely in the companies returns.
Village Roadshow is business venture that began with a chance, an opportunity to leave what was known, the mechanic world and the Geelong scenery and move to the South East suburbs of Melbourne, into a new business (cinema) that was uncertain. It was this chance and the opportunities to strive for more that lead the Kirby family into the successful mogul it is today. It is this website, that shows us this, referencing the companies, annual meetings, board of members, share holdings, itâs all so the public can instill trust in their company. So they choose to use their products and Village Roadshow Limited. The story of the Kirbyâs is an inspiring journey of the average Joe trying to make ends meat. In the end he makes more than that, he makes a life for generations to come.
