Comments The image at hand is a useful reference for for a wide range target audience. The image is simple and very standard although shows Electra Boronia or now known as Metro cinemas (as seen in the picture) what it is today. The image captures not only the modern day development of the cinema and its construction, but also shows the dramatic changes of the local area since the time the cinema was built in 1946.

The built up land around the cinema, such as modern day restaurants, parking areas are all testament to the history of Electra cinemas, where by the cinema itself stood alone when it was initially built compared to now it is squeezed in between a busy shopping arcade.

As well as seeing different small business' around the cinema block we can also see the aged building, which looks dirty and run down, and could be the reasoning for its shut down at some stages, considering the council did actually shut down the venue for breeching safety restrictions.

In summery the image being shown can be used to explain the aged venue although how much has changed, and how the venue stand in amongst modern day agriculture, much different to when it was built in 1946.
Synopsis A side on view of the front of Boronia's Electra Cinema or seen in the image as Metro Cinemas.
