Synopsis |
Pg.228 with regard to the re-establishment of the film industry with government support, Thornhill remarked that the odds are against the independent producer in Australia. pg.246 The Traiff Inquiry started in September 1972 and this was due to the efforts of Thornhill and others like himself who are concern with the future of the Australian film industry. pg.248 Thornhill supported the reported restrictive trade practices of the large distributors and exhibitors and supported that they should be investigated. But the tariff Board rebuffed stating it was beyond the Board's province. pg.265 Before the existence of the Australian Film and Television School, Film Australia was one of the industry's few training grounds for filmmakers. Thornhill was one such person who worked there at various times in the 60s and 70s. |
