Comments This text could be used for filmniks, cinema enthusiasts and film researchers.

This text proivded some very impotant information of the Grand. As the one of the oldest theatre, The Grand has been forget by people gradually. Although there are few records of the Grand, it has been still recorded in the Footscray history. It proved that the Grand has played a very imporant historical role in Footscray.

In this text, the editor mentiond one of the earliest moving recording of Footscray has been screened which is valuable for my reaserch, a web link of the old movies was given in the text. It is very convenient for researchers to view and download those useful records. The first screen in the Grand invited Mayor and Councillors.

There are no arguments and useful criticism in the text, the editor gives only resources. The details of the old moving record is described in the text, we can see how movies effect on people’s life. A fly in the ointment is, this old movie was not screened in the Grand but in the Federal Hall. If there are details of the first screen of the Grand would be more valuable for the research.(Nan Lin)

Synopsis The oldest photo in 1911 of the Grand is provided. The situation of the first night screen was described by an old vistor. Some useful web link of the documentaries could be found.
