Comments By showing comments from Dr. Clinton Fernandes – the film’s consulting historian, people could see the extent to which the truth revealed in the movie. Dr, Fernandes described the movie as “very accurate”. Seeing his background as the principle analyst for the Australian Intelligence Corps on East Timor in 1990s, he gives really strong comments about the film that the entire scene is really happened in the past.

Adding the Indonesian Government’s decision to ban the film, the fact that the film could reveal the secrets behind President Soeharto – Indonesian’s president when Balibo tragedy happened, may become reality.

The strong aspect from this article is that not only it provide a clear information about all the scenes that could reveal the truth behind the tragedy, but it also provides where people could go to see it by themselves, for example the article shows how the movie’s website provides evidence of the Whitlam government’s knowledge of events In Balibo, or the role of Juliana de Costa, a Timorese woman who we see at the beginning and end of the film giving her testimony on the events in East Timor.

However, the assumptions form Dr. Clinton Fernandes might influence the article and we could not see the complex argument about the reason of why the banning happened. People need to see comments from both sides so it becomes a valuable article that worth to reed.

Overall this article is a good references for the discussion on the Balibo banning.

Synopsis Dr. Clinton Fernandes talks about the the film, the reason why Indonesian's Government ban the film, and the impact the film could give to the Indonesian citizen.
