The reason why all this has been listed as unknown because there was no section that was right for what I had researched. When I first got my research topic of the 'Metro Twin' it was hard to find much information on the cinema. I had almost given up when one of my mum's work mates said that her husband knew an organisation called CATHS who research cinemas. They gave me Royce Harris' number. Harris then looked to see what information they had at the CATHS for the Metro Twin. Although not much information was found it did give me hope that it was possible for me to find some information.
Royce Harris and his team at CATHS are fantastic. They get back to you straight away so if anyone else would ever need to find any information on a cinema venue they are best to go to them.
Out of his research I found some images that were better quality than the ones I found on another website, plus Harris also found me some newspaper adverts for the Metro Twin that showed what movies were showing. There was also a great article found as well.
My only negative about CATHS is that they still have so much to learn but this is okay considering they have not been around for many years. Some of the information they should know that they didn't know (which was for example the date the Metro Twin closed) but this was okay because I was able to give them that information. In a way it was a great experience because it made me feel like I was part of their team because I was also helping them on their research on the Metro Twin as well.
Unlike other sources such as David Kilderry there is no bias evident in CATHS/Royce Harris' research. This is probably because unlike Kilderry they have never visited the Metro Twin when it was still open. (Caroline Beaney) |
