Comments This management plan is intended for an audience mainly interested in the background and architecture of the National Theatre and Victory Theatre. The Information provided within the management plan is highly useful for designers, historians, architects and people who are interested in theatres and what they represent. The book is useful mainly because it includes various information on the general history of the theatre, a physical analysis' of the building, conservation polices, original designs, bibliographies and more. The book, while being made mostly of text, also contains a vast amount of photographs ranging from pictures dating back to the 20's all the way to pictures of the theatre’s current state. It also includes blue prints from the original 1921 designs done by Cecil Keeley. The book is quite organised, set out well and informative providing a useful reference for anyone wanting to know about the architectural history behind the building. It also has a good use of references with all citations being from reliable sources such as historian Peter Fogarty, National Trust of Victoria and the Victorian Heritage Register. It also focuses on both states of the building rather than focusing on one or the other. The book is essentially a guide to the venue and supplies readers with an understanding of everything regarding to architecture and is easy to comprehend everything that is being said. (M.Stratus)
