This article from Stage Whispers, (A magazine whose articles are occasionally posted online for those who missed an issue, in this case the May/June 2008 issue) is dedicated to the original production history of Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, before it was revived in 2008 and trotted out through Australian theatres again. The article is a professionally written work, obviously made with movie buffs and learned individuals in mind. It manages to not only provide dates and locations, but also a detailed timeline at the bottom of important years in the production. Even some quotes were added which contribute to the understanding of how Summer of the Seventeenth Doll was recieved at the time of its release, as well as the many subsequent rereleases and adaptions of the original text. There is even a small paragraph concerning the American film adaption, though it is the only part lacking in great detail. The potential this has for the publication is great, allowing for a very detailed look at just what standards the movie adaption Season of Passion had to live up to in order to be considered successful in the eyes of the movie going public and fans of the theatre production.
