By Louise Riddiford.
This article from Cinema Record is a very precise and factual document which comprises gathered information on all three theatres (Melba/Liberty/Odeon) including the Times Newsreel Theatrette which was located below the Liberty and then the Odeon (Page, F 2001, p.12). It would appeal to anyone wanting to know straight facts about how historical theatres functioned, how much they cost to build or run and about what sort of productions were being featured at that point in time. This article forms the basis for a lot of useful information that will go into my blog (mentioned in the synopsis). It is a detailed, coherent response that harbours interesting facts that would be difficult to locate elsewhere. End comment.
