This is a fairly negative review of One Summer of Happiness by Keith Manzie saying that the âmuch publicizedâ nude bathing scene was detrimental to the film and detracted from the plot. He observed a trend of morbidity in contemporaneous Swedish films, and noted that the title was misleading, as none of the characters seemed genuinely happy and in fact lived in a suffocating, repressed society which had quite a depressive effect on the viewer. |
