Comments This small article provides comments from the Valhalla cinema’s general manager, John Rowse, in relation to the cinema’s closure, its returning, management of single-screen theatres and some ideas if Valhalla returns. It is pointed out how single-screen cinemas are risky and difficult to operate in contemporary society. He also observes critically changing programming and movies in cinemas.

This article is useful to learn about the other side of arthouse, single-screen cinemas under current society. Many people seem to think that these kinds of cinemas have to be preserved and evaluated socially as the buildings are historically important and old theatres are disappearing. However, prevailing contemporary large cinemas are changing cinema audiences' preferences and ideas towards attending movie theatres.

On the other hand, this article lacks some examples of how other art deco theatres are operating. The general manager stated that a triple screen would be preferable if Valhalla returns, so it would be more convincing if this article contains information about some other arthouse cinemas having a triple screen and their management skills.
