This article discusses the owner of this cinema, Robert McLeish, and how he owned the first Rivoli located in Burke Road, Camberwell. This article discusses how the Rivoli remained independent, and in the 1960's began a policy of screening features with an arthouse theme.
The article goes on to discuss the journey of the Rivoli, from when the theatre joined the City Cinemas through to when Village took over the premises.
The article highlights that although in 1999 the venue was transformed into an 8 screen multiplex, the new design adhered to the original art-deco style.
