Comments This was the first major statement made to the House on censorship issues since 1938.
Synopsis "The concept of censorship is abhorrent to all men and women who believein the basic freedoms. As a philosophy, censorship is to be condemned". Thus spake Don Chipp.

This statement works through most of the facets of censorship and lights the way forward for future government thinking on the role of classification. This statement in many ways begins the modern censorship era.
