Comments |
A very unique insight into fanfare of the era, with three letters reproduced and others quoted from extensively.
Cited in Wright (1986:69) |
Synopsis |
A summary of typical fanmail Twelvetrees had been recieving, describing the authors of such letters to be as diverse as young girls, 'flappers' and bush mothers.
The overall tone of such letters are described as somewhat pathetic in their explicit adoration. The featured letter had been written by a mother, aware of the kidnapping rumour (fabricated - See The Truth, 14/12/35 p.11) and eager to assure Twelvetrees of her child's safety. |
