Author(s)Dianne Collins
Publication Date 00-00-1987
Comments I've not listed any 'key people or films' as they are simply to numerous. You may be sure that most major (and even many minor)Australian films and film figures are dealt with during some stage of the book which is a detailed history of the Australin film landscape!

The book it readily available at most libraries and is a most entertaining read!

What I found most interesting about the book is it's focus on the social history of the Australian film landscape. Something which is often neglected in theoretical terms.
Synopsis Throughout the book, Collins talks about the American film culture as dominating the local screens. She looks at marketing issues and the contemporary audience behaviour and response to a range of both local and imported film products.

The book is rich in film going statistics and often juxtaposes developments in film history with other social and historical phenomina and developments.
