Comments Accomplished film that owes it's success to the art department that carries the 60's look of the film perfectly.

While the story does wane mid way through (perhaps due to the lack of dramatic action) the film does raise a few issues regarding sexuality and an invasion of the domestic household by media and authoritarian regulation.

Despite the fact that the film received a standing ovation at the Edinburgh Film Festival there was little or no publicity in the week before the film was released in Australia. As a result, the film did not do as well as hoped in the box office. (T.D'Aversa)
Synopsis Set in Australia in 1968 the film tells the tale of Wally, an ex-crim who gets caught up in more trouble than he can handle.

Wally refuses entry to two policemen into his house and they mistakenly assume he is holding a woman and a child hostage. The woman is actually Wally's new girlfriend. The whole situation escalates, police surround the house and Wally ends up demanding an M-16 rifle and a helicopter. A deal is srtuck that Wally will be set free without charges if he agrees to serve in Vietnam.
