Comments Shane Jacobson is an Australian Actor perhaps best known for his roles as Kenny Smyth from his hit Kenny, and Boots from Charlie and Boots. Years before, Shane began his acting career at the age of 10 in amateur theatre. Here he performed both nationally and internationally. By the age of 18 he went on to perform in various musical theatre pieces and also began performing stand-up comedy. In 1999 he performed regularly on a Gold Coast radio station and it was here the he invented his character, Sergio the hairdresser, who also featured prominently on his radio show. For years to follow Shane acted in various commercials and music videos whilst performing as audience warm up for major TV networks. What is believed to be his big break came in 2006 when Shane starred in the Australian Documentary Kenny. From this point on Shane’s acting career was uphill, featuring in various Australian films, television shows and musical theatre to follow. Three years after his break out role as Kenny, Shane starred in the Australian film Charlie and Boots, which later had the best opening weekend for any Australian film. Shane is today considered a crucial aspect of the Australian film and television industry and has since won a variety awards for his achievements in this area. Shane is a stand out Australian actor and illustrates to Australians the importance of their film industry and local talent. His achievements demonstrate how it is possible to gain such success in a small scale industry.
