Levikow feels that although Puberty Blues is different from the usual US teen sex flick, the subject has been covered in films like Porky's, Private School and fast times at Ridgemont High. He admits however that this film has a more honest approach in broaching the topic of teenagers.
Overall he feels that Puberty Blue's blandness is overbearing and feels the film has too much resemblance to an incomplete film.
