Comments This article provides somewhat of a perception into industry formalities, in particular methods of budgeting which Hughes has relied upon for multiple projects. This is evident in the praises given by hughes about the establishment of The Australian Film Commission and their ongoing contribution and funding towards his and other independant film projects. The comparison of the narrative techniques of 'What i have written' with other documenetaries by hughes provides insight into hughes' nature as a director to successfully challenge the conventions of filmmaking in australia, reflecting a sociologcical awareness of the importance of an independant film culture.
