Comments After being given my topic, Where the Wild Things Are, the Internet Movie Database was the first website I visited. This website is intended for anyone regardless of age, gender or country. If you have an internet connection you can use this site. IMDb contains a wide variety of information including trailers, pictures, cast and crew, plot summaries, box office information and quotes. This information could be used for a variety of purposes including academic or just general interest. It is important not only for its vast variety of information but also as it allows you to refine your search into something more specific.

The Internet Movie Database provides clear, comprehensive and up to date coverage of Where the Wild Things Are primarily because that is the function of a database. I would contend that IMDb is a reliable source but maybe not so much an original source as there is room on the site for viewer contributions and no specific author is given. I believe that IMDb follows the theory of freedom of information and that everyone can view this information in one easy to find and understand location.

Synopsis A young boy named Max has an active imagination, and he will throw fits if others don't go along with what he wants. Max - following an incident with Claire (his sister) and her friends, and following a tantrum which he throws as a result of his Mother paying more attention to her boyfriend than to him - runs away from home. Wearing his wolf costume at the time, Max not only runs away physically, but runs toward a world in his imagination. This world, an ocean away, is inhabited by large wild beasts, including one named Carol who is much like Max himself in temperament. Instead of eating Max like they normally would with creatures of his type, the wild things befriend Max after he proclaims himself a king who can magically solve all their problems.
