This research file could be helpful to many people who would like to learn about the heritage of the Glen Ira area, and also the architecture. The importance that this has in relevance to the Crystal Palace Theatre is that it is considered âhistorically and architecturally significant.â Although the Crystal Palace no longer screens film, the Glen Ira Council have declared it a heritage site, showing the importance the theatre has in the local history of Caulfield. This information is implying that the Crystal Palace was significant and important enough for todayâs society to remember and preserve the site.
This could develop to the theme and argument of bringing back the original feeling of going to the movies. Should there be more independent cinemas? Instead of turning old cinemas into shopping centers, should the council restore old theatres to their original state and create more, smaller cinemas.
