Large newspaper clipping containing entertainment dates and times for a variety of cinemas, plays, comedy theatres, radio and even dance lessons from 1956.

The clipping, while sparse on the details which would be worthwhile to the topic at hand, manages to give out a few details on the venue when Summer of the Seventeenth Doll was being shown; Her Majesty's Theatre. It also shows the date the newspaper was published and the year when the original theatre production was in syndication: 18th December 1956. As an added bonus, it also details what times the performance would be taking place for the final three occasions: Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2pm. All to be expected with period newspaper advertisements. Though due to being situated in the same advertising square, placed above a performance of the Can-Can, it's clear that at the time it was not a particularly headline grabbing production. However, it also gives an insight into how little advertisements for Melbourne theatre and other movies showing at the time have changed in regards to how they are printed in newspapers. This will serve as excellent primary source evidence and an image which can be placed on the site when discussing the original productionâs run through Australian theatres before the introduction of the American film adaption that made the original production seem all the better through hindsight.
