Comments Great introduction into the history of the Regent Cinema and Theatre. This journal is very helpful for anyone seeking an overview of the history, interior design and architectural significance of the Regent Melbourne. Nothing is spared in the Authors description of the interior, painting a realistic picture for the reader. Issue 4 (p.9) notes that, “Gold, Ivory and Coffee Brown form the colour scheme, with Gold brocade tapestry to the walls.” This begins a great insight into the fashionable and expensive patterns of that time. (ThomasB)

Issue 6 - Article 'The story of The Regent Melbourne, Part 4' describes, in one of its paragraphs, the closure of various cinema venues in Victoria including a description of the demolition of the Regent Fitzroy which was previously known as the Solway Theatre.(AshG)

Synopsis Issue 3-7 A history of the Regent Theatre intended for booklet production. Focuses on the original form of the theatre before it was destroyed; up until motions of a rebuild in 1983. This was also the year of the journals production. A main feature of this journal is the in depth look at the interior design and decoration of the Theatre from its early beginnings and likeness to world famous cinemas such as New Yorks Capital.
